AAMMH Malawi
African Alliance for Maternal Mental Health-Malawi (AAMMH-Malawi) is the country chapter of the continent-wide African Alliance for Maternal Mental Health. AAMMH-Malawi was launched in June 2019. It aims to: educate care providers and the community on maternal mental health, advocate for the prioritization of maternal mental health in the country’s strategies and polices, and act to centralise the mental health of mothers in reproductive and child health services. AAMMH-Malawi will bring together government organizations, local and national NGOs, educational and research institutions, professional associations and private companies to promote maternal mental health in Malawi.

Malawi Interfaith AIDS Association (MIAA) was established as an interfaith AIDS service agency to provide leadership and coordination of the faith based response to HIV and AIDS in Malawi. Over the years, the mandate and scope of work of MIAA has expanded to include all health issues including providing psycho social support and other socio economic dynamics such as humanitarian response, child protection, Sexual and gender based violence, advocacy and women empowerment
Andiamo Youth Cooperative since 1978 create space of access to education and health care services for a wide community in Balaka. In the health Care department we run a Cham Community Hospital named ANDIAMO COMFORT COMMUNITY HOSPITAL which includes a maternity ward with about 200 average births per month, an operating theatre dedicated to maternal services (caesarian sections), a paediatric ward, an out patient department, an analysis lab, and soon to open a Radiology. We also run 2 outreach out patients clinics in Kapandatsitsi and Toleza rural villages once a week- We are well radiated in the community since years and well cooperating with the local health system
Mlambe Health and Social Trust (MhEST) is a locally registered charitable organisation based in Zomba, Malawi. MhEST collaborates with government, partners, communities and individuals to enhance collective impact and deliver innovative, cost effective interventions to alleviate vulnerability, suffering and poverty on vulnerable young people, elderly and those requiring palliative care.
The YWCA Malawi is a Malawian Nongovernmental, Christian organization dedicated to the empowerment of women in order to achieve a better community’. The YWCA supports young women in their efforts to make positive changes in their lives through the development of the whole person, body and spirit, ensuring basic health needs, developing leadership and promoting self- reliance. Over the past 15 years we have run programs in HIV/AIDS awareness, treatment care and support, adult literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership development, violence against women and SRHR and psychosocial wellbeing of adolescent mothers and their children.
Mental Health Users and Carers Association (MeHUCA) is a registered patient advocacy organization that was established on 27th February, 2010 and was officially launched in 2012. MeHUCA is a volunteer- based, Disabled Persons Organization (DPO) comprising of people with or having previously experienced mental illness, learning disability and other mental health problems and their carers (guardians).
Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU), formerly known as Karonga Prevention Study, has over the last 30 years made major contributions to the understanding and control of infectious diseases. MEIRU’s main focus from 1979 until 2012 was in Karonga District.
The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) is one of the leading human rights non-governmental organizations in Malawi. Its mission is to have a vibrant Malawi culture which embraces the values of democracy and human rights. CHRR aims to contribute towards the protection, promotion and consolidation of good governance by empowering rural and urban communities in Malawi to be aware of and exercise their rights to realize human development.
Pakachere IHDC, one of the leading local Social and Behaviour Change Communication as well as service delivery NGO that exists to empower all Malawians, particularly the vulnerable to choose and sustain healthy lifestyle behaviours through evidence based health and development communication, social mobilization, advocacy and service delivery. Pakachere values integrity, innovation, professionalism, are evidence based and result oriented. Pakachere focuses on HIV programming, sexual and reproductive health, malaria, advocacy and has in the past years also focused on maternal and child nutrition. Primary populations include; female sex workers, adolescent girls and young women, adolescents and young people, and the general population. The organisation is currently working in 10 Districts
The Scotland Malawi Mental Health Education Project (SMMHEP) aims to provide sustainable support for psychiatric teaching and training for health care professionals in Malawi. The project has enjoyed close links with individuals and institutions in Malawi since 2006 and became a registered Scottish Charity in 2008. Currently the principal activities of the project are delivery of undergraduate medical student teaching and in recent years, postgraduate teaching of psychiatry trainees. We are now involved in supporting Quality Improvement work in Malawi and Zambia.

Centre for Girls & Interaction (CEGI) is a non-profit making organization, primarily concerned with creating access to information on children, girls and young women rights or related issues through interaction, advocacy, documentation, education, and networking for positive change.
CEGI aims at improving lives of adolescent, young women, and youth in Malawi through increasing access to quality health care, education, information and a sustainable system of community development.
Organization for Sustainable Social-Economic Development Initiatives (OSSEDI Malawi) is a NGO committed to supporting poor and marginalized communities through participatory and innovative development approaches. With a vision of enhancing quality of life and ensuring access to fundamental human rights, OSSEDI works across thematic areas including education, health and nutrition, child protection, WASH, livelihoods, climate-smart agriculture, disaster risk reduction, and GBV response. They primarily serve vulnerable groups such as women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.
Women Lawyers Association Malawi (WLA) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, and enforcing the rights of women and children. Through legal advocacy and systemic reforms, the WLA Malawi works to address violence and discrimination, striving for an inclusive society where human rights are fully realized. Guided by its vision of eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls, WLA Malawi upholds the values of respect, cooperation, creativity, accountability, and professionalism in advancing justice and equality.
Women for Sustainable Agile Development (WOSAD) exists to champion women-led, impactful and participatory sustainable development in several areas including health, education, skills-development, capacity-building, climate, gender, and economic justice. WOSAD was set up to specifically promote the rights of women and girls in addressing their marginalization, stigmatization, and vulnerabilities. Their primary target population includes indigenous women and girls, inclusive of those living with disability.
