SPANS

Society for Pre and Post Natal Services (SPANS) promotes and supports antenatal, perinatal nutrition and postnatal care (APPC) to promote good mental health-care across the life cycle with particular attention on the pre- and post-natal phase.

S.A.L.T Africa

Someone Always Listens To-you, S.A.L.T Africa, is a mental health organization dedicated to promoting psychological well-being across African communities, with a strong focus on maternal mental health. The organization provides education and psychosocial support to pregnant women during antenatal care, helping them navigate the social and emotional changes associated with pregnancy. Through talk therapy, counselling, and structured follow-ups, S.A.L.T Africa empowers women to manage stress and build resilience for healthier maternal and infant outcomes. A core objective of the organization is to involve men in maternal mental health education, fostering empathy, shared responsibility, and supportive family environments. By encouraging active partner participation, S.A.L.T Africa works to strengthen family relationships and challenge limiting gender norms. The organization also trains maternal mental health first responders in communities and educates and trains clinical staff in maternal mental health first aid. Its work centers on community-based mental health advocacy, prevention, and early intervention, primarily serving expectant mothers and families, and contributing to healthier households and communities across Africa.

Hope Connect

Hope Connect is a Christian non-profit organization based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Our vision is to see healthy, strong, and lasting bonds between children and their caregivers. Our mission is to build a world where children who have faced trauma receive the care and support they need to thrive. By strengthening caregiver–child relationships, we help create a future grounded in love, stability, and resilience.
We work with children and caregivers from pregnancy through the teenage years, including biological, foster, and adoptive families. Our focus is on challenges that affect a child’s attachment—an essential foundation for development, behaviour, learning, and future relationships.
Our services include peer support groups; individual family support for situations such as adoption, parental mental health challenges, and family breakdown; and professional training for those working with children. We also run Connected Hearts, an eight-week program where caregivers and children build connection through joyful activities such as baby/story massage, games, and songs.
